Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program- Deadline February 1, 2018

The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine is hosting the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program. The SURF program provides a wide variety of summer research opportunities for undergraduate students interested in careers in medicine or biomedical research. This program is 7 weeks in length and includes room & board, a living allowance, 6 semester hours of biology credit from Ohio University, and the potential for a guaranteed interview for the entering class at the medical school. Participants will work in an active research lab under the guidance of a biomedical science faculty member. The goal is to expose students to the challenges, excitement, and satisfaction of research. The deadline for the application is February 1, 2018. MCAT Registration Opening- February 7, 2018

Please be advised registration will open on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 for the July-September MCAT exam dates. Students are encouraged to log into the MCAT Registration System in advance of February 7 to fill-in registration information such as biographical information and complete necessary consents. This will help to expedite the process for selecting a test date and location on or after February 7.

Of the Mindful Physician

Of the Mindful Physician is a group meant to expose future physicians to issues associated with patient-physician interaction and ways that the arts and humanities can be used to strengthen this relationship. 

Additional EMT Basic Course Offered this Spring

This 155-hour course focusing on EMT is being conducted in the College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CPASS) building, Room G8 on Evansdale Campus. Class will start on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 6:00 pm and meet from 6:00pm-10:00pm weekdays and 9:00am – 5:00pm on weekends by instructor Courtney Chaney. Classes are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and 6 Saturdays on the following dates:
