Lauren Florio, MPA, MSW
Lauren Florio graduated from WVU with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2021 and earned her Master of Public Administration and Master of Social Work degrees from WVU in 2025. While exploring healthcare careers, Lauren became passionate about helping others discover and achieve their goals.
Lauren has a wide range of interests and has held positions in several WVU departments
including Housing and Residence Life, the Honors College, Statler College of Engineering
and Mineral Resources, the Center for Excellence in Disabilities, and the Office
of Compliance and Prevention Education. Lauren discovered her passion for teaching,
advising, mentorship, and student development during her experience in the Honors
Foundations Mentoring program. She is excited to give back to the Honors College
community and to collaborate with individuals who once served as mentors for her.
In her downtime, you can find Lauren crafting and exploring creativity, spending
time with friends and family, cooking, and traveling.
Lauren’s work is fueled by her desire to create accessible opportunities for students.
Her advising style is client-focused, strengths-based, and interdisciplinary. She
hopes to guide students by highlighting their strengths, encourage students to
develop their creative problem-solving skills, and to incite confidence in future
healthcare providers.
