Pre-Optometry Club and Indiana University School of Optometry Info Session - September 23,2019 at 7pm
The MS in Health Sciences is a 12-month terminal degree program that does not require a thesis. The program is designed to enhance competitiveness for entry into professional or graduate programs including an MD, DDS, DPH, MPH or PHD. The program also provides an excellent preparation for combining scientific knowledge with non-scientific degrees such as a JD or MBA.

This club is dedicated to expanding student's education and interest in the medical humanities including narrative medicine through community service, workshops, and student engagement. Members with enhance their understanding of narrative medicine, story sharing, and empathetic medical language. The Wilderness & Environmental Medicine department from the University of Colorado's Anshutz Medical Campus will be hosting two opportunities for undergraduate students to earn course credit (through their medical school!) to travel to Colorado in January or Costa Rica in December!
The January Colorado Pre-Health Course will take place January 2nd - 13th, 2020 in Denver and Golden, CO. This "mini-med school" program includes lecture by national experts, ED shadowing, med school labs, admission director/committee member talks, and field time at a camp high in the Rockies. Classes are taught by our School of Medicine faculty and provide CPR and Wilderness First Responder certification.
The December Costa Rica Pre-Med Class will take place December 14th - 23rd, 2019 in Hacienda Baru, Costa Rica. Through this course, students will learn wilderness and emergency medicine, practice authentic medical scenarios, and earn CPR and Wilderness Responder Certificates. This opportunity will also offer experience whitewater rafting, jungle treks, treetop canopy tours, surfing lessons, and more!
The 17th annual West Virginia Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol will be held in the West Virginia Capitol Rotunda Friday, February 7, 2020.
The purpose of this event is to familiarize state legislators with some of the research and creative activities involving undergraduate students and the educational impact of those activities. The 2020 Research Day will be a poster session featuring research and creative works conducted by undergraduate students under the guidance of faculty mentors from colleges and universities across the state. The event will showcase posters in a wide range of subjects, including the sciences, arts, social sciences, and humanities
Undergraduates are encouraged to apply/submit abstracts by midnight Nov. 1, 2019 to present their work. For more information about abstracts click here.

The 2019 Graduate and Professional Fair is intended for those who have an interest in graduate and professional study at WVU and the attending institutions. Undergraduates from West Virginia and surrounding states, as well as working professionals looking to advance or change their career, are encouraged to attend!
